Cubs acquire Barrett from A's
CHICAGO -- The Cubs added a right-handed hitting catcher on Tuesday, but it wasn't Pudge Rodriguez.

The Cubs acquired Michael Barrett from the Oakland Athletics for a player to be named later. Barrett didn't start looking for a home in the Bay Area. The Montreal Expos dealt him to Oakland on Monday at the Winter Meetings for a player to be named, and Barrett said he guessed his stay would be short.

This year was an injury-riddled season for Barrett, who hit .208 with 10 homers and 30 RBIs in 70 games. He spent much of the year on the disabled list because of a right hip flexor suffered July 26 against Atlanta.

Who? Why? Another light hitting catcher?
