Granholm, Senate GOP leader reached deal on budget deficit
LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Gov. Jennifer Granholm and GOP Senate Majority Leader Ken Sikkema reached a budget-deficit deal Tuesday that includes delaying an income tax cut by six months and giving businesses a tax break.

"It's a good compromise," Sikkema said. "To get to a solution, there has to be a little give and take. I think this is very fair. I applaud the governor for coming to the middle ground here."

Granholm said she was optimistic the deal would go through, although there was still uncertainty about what House Republicans will do.

Oh, alright. *sheesh* The things ya have to do to appease the greed...
