Yahoo! News - Mercker Signs One-Year Deal with Cubs
CHICAGO (Reuters) - The Chicago Cubs agreed to terms with pitcher Kent Mercker on a one-year deal Thursday.

Mercker, 35, who has been relegated to the bullpen for the last two years, was with Cincinnati and Atlanta last season. He made 67 appearances, recording a healthy 1.95 ERA, with opponents hitting .227 against him.

Once upon a time this guy could really pitch. This looks to be a good deal. (Edited at 5:15 AM- Hey Pop- I think Hollandsworth is a fine addition too. We are building quite the ballclub here.)
