CHOOSING A DEMOCRAT: Michigan teachers back Kerry
While Michigan's biggest union, the UAW, is sitting out the state's Democratic caucuses Feb. 7, the second biggest union has gotten on board with U.S. Sen. John Kerry.

After polling a 400-person sample of its 156,000 members, the Michigan Education Association decided Friday to back the Massachusetts senator. Thirty-seven percent of the teachers polled supported Kerry, while 15 percent supported former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean. The rest of the candidates drew single-digit support.

Granholm is set to endorse Kerry also. Bye bye Howard.
