Saugatuck dune funding thrills backers
The $2.5 million was included in a much-criticized $373 billion spending bill approved by the U.S. Senate Thursday. Many legislators complained the bill contained too much non-essential spending.

The city of Saugatuck wants to acquire the 161-acre southern parcel while the state wants to add the 251-acre northern parcel to Saugatuck Dunes State Park.

Of course, my "pork" is "good pork". Protecting these dunes from development is a great idea. We need to keep some of the Lake Michigan shoreline in it's natural condition before it's all gone.

But, shame on our government and it's wasteful spending. Ha.

Today is the day I am defining my hypocrisy and learning how to live with it.
