CNN.com - Clarke, Tenet to testify before 9/11 panel - Mar 24, 2004
"The president by word and deed made clear his interests and his intense desire to protect the nation from terrorism," Powell said. "He frequently asked us to do more. He decided early on that we needed to be more aggressive in going after terrorism and especially al Qaeda."

Proof? If that's true, why wouldn't he meet with Dick Clarke until Sept. 4th, 2001?

Likewise, former Clinton officials defended the antiterrorism policies of their boss.

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said Clinton was criticized for overreacting when he launched attacks on Afghanistan and Sudan after the bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998.

Albright said: "There should have been no confusion that our personnel were authorized to kill bin Laden. We did not, after all, launch cruise missiles for the purpose of serving legal papers."

I'd like to see the quotes of who critized Bill and what they said. Too lazy to dig them up.
