Yahoo! News - W. House Calls on Kerry to Reveal Names of Leaders
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House on Monday said if Democrat John Kerry refuses to name foreign leaders who he says want him to defeat President Bush, then he is probably making it up.

The Republican White House was trying to capitalize on Kerry's recent comment that he had spoken to some foreign leaders who wanted him to beat Bush in the November election and change the course of U.S. foreign policy.

Bush was at odds with leaders of France, Germany, Russia, Canada and other nations during the Iraq conflict because they refused to go along with war. His coalition in favor of war included 34 nations led by Britain, Australia, Italy and Spain, whose pro-U.S. government was toppled in elections on Sunday.

Well, there's four named countries right in this very article of some folks who might like to see Bush out. Gee, guys, if you can't figure out who might have said these things, then perhaps you should read the newspaper and pay more attention to world opinion.

Or does the White House actually think that everyone is on our side? Pretty dangerous assumption to make, in my opinion. Or maybe the White House enjoys being deliberately obtuse just so they can call Kerry a liar.
