Yahoo! News - Bush Says He Will Stake Re-Election on Iraq
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush said he would stake his re-election on a successful outcome in Iraq at a rare prime-time news conference on Tuesday night where he said more U.S. troops might be needed to stop the violence and transfer power to Iraqis.

Bush, speaking for more than an hour, gave a stay-the-course message, condemned a "power-grab by these extreme and ruthless elements" and said U.S. forces were allowed to use decisive force to maintain order. Some moderate Iraqis have expressed concern at the deadly tactics used to fight Sunnis and Shi'ites on separate fronts.

The reviews are in, and it was exactly as I predicted. Good (campaign) speech, but when it came to answering questions Bush comes off as a bumbling fool with no clear plan for the future. You almost feel sorry for the guy- he appears to be in over his head, and looked old and tired to me.
