Yahoo! News - Bush to Face Reporters in Prime Time
With the Sept. 11 commission hearings and the recent battles in Iraq being broadcast into American homes, this is a good time for Bush to defend his policies, said Stephen Hess, a political analyst at the liberal-leaning Brookings Institution. "This is an administration that gets in trouble because it doesn't speak up in a timely way and defend itself," Hess said. The news conference is "really quite necessary," he said.

On Monday at his Texas ranch, Bush deflected questions about the pre-Sept. 11 warning, telling reporters that if the FBI had known about an imminent terrorist attack against America, the agency would have told him.

Still, he added that now might be the right time to "revamp and reform our intelligence services."

NOW might be the right time? Almost three YEARS later? Why, because this is blowing up in your face? Because you ignored the warnings and focused on Star Wars? Yes, let's blame the FBI, the CIA and whoever we can pass this off on, you inept asshole.

To questions about whether the security situation in Iraq was untenable, Bush replied: "The situation in Iraq has improved."

The situation has improved ?!? How so, George? The Iraqi police are quitting in droves and joining the "insurgents". We've killed 700 civilians. And lost 70 troops. And here you are on vacation AGAIN. As I type this, a report is coming over the TV about yet another attack on a convoy and yet another soldier is dead.

This is making me sick, it's getting hard to blog anything because of the disgust I feel when the subject comes up.

I want this SOB tried for war crimes, right after we impeach him.
