Lansing State Journal:Granholm impresses many
BOSTON - While the convention spotlight is on John Kerry, thousands of Democrats are meeting or hearing Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm for the first time.

Her speech to the convention Wednesday was her first national prime-time speech.

Granholm has drawn national attention since she was elected Michigan's first female governor in 2002, but the convention has taken that to a new level.

She has appeared on "Face the Nation" and bantered with Chris Matthews, the brash host of MSNBC's "Hardball."

NBC anchor Tom Brokaw interviewed her Monday night, and ABC's Peter Jennings the following night. National Public Radio and CNN grabbed time with her as well. She turned down "Nightline" and several other news shows.

Jon Stewart goofed on her pretty good as well.

I'm glad that she's getting a lot of positive press out of this- and I see her moving on to bigger things some day.
