Yahoo! News - Report: War Rationale Based on CIA Error
WASHINGTON - Following the release of a Senate report harshly criticizing U.S. intelligence gathering and analysis, the focus will soon shift to whether and how to make sweeping changes to the intelligence community.

After a yearlong investigation, the Senate Intelligence Committee released nearly 120 conclusions about the intelligence community's performance on estimating the threat from Iraq, found primarily in a 2002 assessment that served as the Bush administration's leading arguments for war.

Following release of the 511-page review Friday, the panel's top Democrat, West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller, said three-quarters of senators would not have voted to authorize the invasion if they had known how weak the intelligence was.

Bullshit. You had the leader of the free world and his entire administration spouting off about the supposed connections between Iraq and 9/11 at every turn. They pushed hard for this war, and would have branded you as a traitor had you not voted for it. Georgie wanted this to happen, and he made it happen, regardless of how weak the intelligence was. You assholes kissed his boots, and now you want to pass the buck and blame the CIA. What a crock.

So, do we apologize to Saddam if this was all an "intelligence" failure? Give him back his country? We are basically admitting that this was a big mistake, right? Shouldn't there be some worldwide repercussions from that? Some amends to make?
