Maddux seeks 300th win

Maddux will make his first attempt at the pitching milestone on Sunday for the Chicago Cubs in the series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Maddux has invited a few family members and friends to the game. What he probably didn't expect was having a new shortstop behind him. The Cubs acquired Nomar Garciaparra from the Boston Red Sox on Saturday as part of a four-team, eight-player deal.

Garciaparra was expected in the lineup Sunday. A five-time American League All-Star, Garciaparra arrives batting .321 with five homers and 21 RBIs. The Cubs are hoping his presence gives their offense a boost and helps them get to the playoffs.

OK, I gotta stay home and watch this. History in the making.
