Yahoo News - Major League Approves Baseball Channel for TV
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Major League Baseball has approved the creation of a national cable television channel devoted to America's favorite pastime, but regular-season games may be confined to the dugouts for the network's first year, a top league official said on Friday.

Broadcast rights under existing contracts with such outlets as ESPN, the Fox network and regional sports channels means that programming on the MLB's Baseball Channel may be limited initially to coverage of such events as spring training, Triple A minor league games and overseas competition.

Tim Brosnan, league executive vice president, told Reuters the channel also may draw on its extensive archive of classic baseball games or arrange for production of its own commentary shows, interview programs and documentaries.

Can I trade the Golf Channel for this? Please? I'll throw in the Food Channel too!
