Yahoo News - Tie vote kicks gay issue off Mich. ballot
Despite a surplus of signatures, an initiative to amend Michigan's constitution with a same-sex marriage ban was not authorized by state officials for the November ballot.

On Monday the Board of State Canvassers deadlocked 2-2 about certifying the more than 464,000 signatures in favor of the ballot measure, the Associated Press reported. Only 317,757 were needed to put the amendment before state voters.

As a result, the courts will likely decide whether to put the marriage ban on the Nov. 2 ballot.

"We'll let the real judges decide now," Eric Doster, an attorney for the group that collected the signatures, told the AP.

These assholes aren't going to quit. Let's hope the "real" judges put an end to this once and for all. If anything, this will be tied up for awhile and I won't have to listen to a bunch of bigoted ads on the radio.
