Yahoo! News - Senate Panel Approves Rice as Secretary of State
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday approved the nomination of Condoleezza Rice to be secretary of state.

Despite Democrats' criticism of Rice's role in forming U.S. policy on Iraq, the Republican-led Senate is expected to confirm her nomination on Thursday.

The only "no" votes in the 18-member committee came from two Democrats -- Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, who was Bush's opponent in the 2004 election, and Sen. Barbara Boxer of California, who was Rice's fiercest critic in two days of confirmation hearings.

John! I never knew you had it in you. Watch out for the "sour grapes" catcalls sure to come from the right. ***yawn***

Couldn't watch this morning, the boredom quotient became too high. I'll wait for the movie to come out.
