WOODTV.com- Michigan House Republicans want school boards to create policies on steroids
OK. The schools are going broke. So what's on the mind of Republicans? Ah yes, cheating in sports. Priority one.

Republicans in the Michigan House want school boards across the state to create a policy on steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs.

Representative Daniel Acciavatti of New Baltimore will announce the legislation Thursday at news conferences in Jackson and Macomb County.

He wants the state health department to develop a list of banned substances and make it available for school districts to use in their athletic eligibility rules. It could be the same as the one used by the NCAA.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association discourages the use of steroids and other drugs, but doesn't currently prohibit steroids.

Gee, all we have to do to implement drug testing would be to cut a few more teachers! After all, sports is the big money ticket. Screw that education stuff.
