Time is running out. Monday is the deadline, making this weekend crucial to reach those that haven't gotten the message yet.

According to the SOS, your application must be postmarked by Oct. 6 - which means you can still register by mail through Monday, but to be safe, get those registrations in the mail today. Visit VoteForChange for a quick one-stop method of checking your registration, and you can print off a pre-filled registration form to mail in. Be sure and check the Secretary of State Voter Information Center to confirm all you information is correct. If not, get down there today or Monday and make sure everything on file is accurate.

No retreat, no surrender. Don't be fooled by McCain pulling out of Michigan; Republicans have a track record of lying about, well, everything, this campaign season, no reason to start believing them now.

One Democratic consultant with extensive Michigan experience floated the possibility that McCain's move was a feint, designed to lure Obama away from what had been considered a crucial swing state as recently as two weeks ago. "They want us to take our foot off the accelerator," said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

That's on the minds of some rank-and-file Democrats, too.

"I don't think it's true," Obama supporter Steve Winear said about McCain's pullout, while at Thursday's rally in East Lansing. "John McCain is all gimmicks and gadgets. With John McCain, it's fourth-and-long every day."

UPDATE: Replaced the YouTube with a photo taken this morning of the GR Obama HQ - office was buzzing with people picking up yard signs, bumper stickers, clipboards for canvass today, organizing the volunteers, working the phones and the desk...

One lady was there from the very red suburb of Byron Center, replacing a yard sign that was stolen from her lawn this morning. The office took her name and put it on the list. She was not going to let that intimidation stand, man, and has plans to print a flyer and distribute it around her neighborhood. WTG Burbs!
