I have seen these birds around the neighborhood from time to time. This one was on my next door neighbor's front porch the other day, eating its prey and hanging out.
Best guess that it is a juvenile Sharp-shinned or Cooper's Hawk, based on descriptions and other pictures. Whatever it is, it got my attention by the sheer size and nasty looking claws on its feet. Pooties beware!
