Dillon Considered for State Treasurer

Snyder said he wanted to hire people who got results, and you have to admit that Andy got great results for the Republicans. Not only did he deliver their budget cuts in 2009, he never failed to fail at articulating the Democratic agenda while Speaker of the House. He refused to endorse Bernero, but was quick with congratulations for the Republicans when they swept to victory.

Only fitting that he be rewarded for his efforts.

Michigan House Speaker Andy Dillon, a Democrat, is under consideration to be State Treasurer in Governer-elect Rick Snyder’s new administration. That’s according to WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick, who reports Dillon is “intrigued” by the idea.

Dillon ran for governor, but lost in the Democratic primary to Virg Bernero. Dillon did not support Bernero in the general election.

Seems that just yesterday the papers were calling for him to resign as Speaker since the Legislature couldn't get anything done this year (and they didn't), and he said he was happy to be rejoining the private sector.

Par for the course. With Andy, you never know which side he's on, or what he is going to do next. He sure loves him some Republicans though, so maybe they will have better luck with his performance than we did.
