Cubs agree to terms with free agents Mark Grudzielanek and Tom Goodwin
The Chicago Cubs today agreed to terms with infielder Mark Grudzielanek on a one-year contract for the 2004 season with a club option for the 2005 season. The club also agreed to terms on a one-year contract for the 2004 season with Tom Goodwin. Financial terms were not disclosed.

In addition, the Cubs announced they will not offer arbitration to the following nine free agents: Antonio Alfonseca, Shawn Estes, Doug Glanville, Mark Guthrie, Eric Karros, Kenny Lofton, Troy O'Leary, Dave Veres, and Tony Womack.

I hate to lose Lofton and Karros. "The team with Kenny makes the playoffs." Mark my words.
