Caps clinch playoff spot with win over Dayton
I forgot about the wildcard spot when I posted before. Oops. Weird Midwest League rules.

Anyway, YEA 'Caps!

DAYTON, Ohio -- For the first time in four years, the West Michigan Whitecaps will not have to wait until the second half of the season to earn a playoff spot.

The combination of the Whitecaps' 4-3 win over Dayton on Sunday and Beloit's 7-0 win over third-place South Bend left West Michigan with nothing less than a runner-up finish in the Eastern Division.

It is the first time since 2002 the Whitecaps have clinched a playoff spot in the first half.

West Michigan (38-23) could win the division. The Whitecaps, who last won the first half in 2000, are a half-game ahead of Lansing (37-24) with six games left.

Win the division- I think gives homefield advantage in the playoffs. Not positive.
