Democrats unveil new ad promoting Granholm
I've seen it twice already tonight. Nice job!

Watch it here.

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Four months after GOP gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos began blanketing the state with campaign ads, Democrats are entering the fray with a new statewide ad promoting Gov. Jennifer Granholm.

Entitled "Michigan First," the Michigan Democratic Party ad talks about how the governor is focusing on bringing more jobs and businesses to Michigan. Although it doesn't mention DeVos, it obliquely criticizes the policies of President Bush.

"Outsourcing. Bush economics. Corporate profits and jobs shipped overseas. It's time to stand up and fight," an announcer intones.

The ad, which began airing Thursday morning, goes on to show black-and-white pictures of Granholm touring plants and meeting with people as the announcer says she has ordered the state to buy Michigan products first and put money into Michigan businesses that hire Michigan workers.

The local yokels jumped all over this on the news. I managed to avoid Albin (yea! for me!) but happened to catch 13- and I believe it's now time to call Ed Sarpolus of EPIC-MRA a "Republican pollster". WZZM chose to interview him on this ad, and once again, he had nothing but negative to say about Granholm.
"The bottom line is its good for people to see that she's up, but it's really a drop in the bucket," says Ed Sarpolus, Vice President of EPIC-MRA polling.

Right off the bat Ed is dismissive. He then proceeds with judgment on facts not in evidence- he talks about a campaign that hasn't "officially" even kicked off yet.

"It tells me how her fundraising is going and that she doesn't have politically skilled people in the campaign. She's running an old style campaign like she's running against someone with no money," Sarpolus says.

Quite the opposite and that money has meant DeVos is defining himself on television, without Democratic interference.

"If I were working for Governor Granholm I'd be very concerned," Sarpolus says.

I should go back and put together a list of his quotes from this year. There is a definite pattern...
