San Francisco at exactly 8:30 last night, as luck would have it. This is one of the clearest pics I got (and still had to selectively sharpen, night shooting such a trick) - and it just happened to fall on that moment. I was on Treasure Island, snapping away, waiting for a dramatic change in the lights that never came. I hear City Hall went off, the Golden Gate went off, the Bay Lights never came on in the first place, and I think that the downtown area was a bit dimmer than usual, as office buildings just left some lights off for the entire day.
No a-ha moment, but still, a great thought. Earth Hour may not reduce consumption, but it does raise awareness - and that's what it's all about.
