State of the State 2010 Slideshow

Sorry this is late - elderly family member needed assistance today (yes, that's you, Dad!).

It was a difficult day yesterday, being aware that this was the governor's last address, and quite possibly the last time that I would be shooting a State of the State. As I told quite a few people, I can't see myself wanting to drive down there for anyone else. So, I proceeded to get too far in my head, both looking back at where we (and I) had been, and playing future games as well, all the while admiring the beautiful building and thinking about this particular moment in time in history. I'm glad I could be a small part of it, and I'm certainly glad that I was able to witness it. I'll walk away with a few flashbulb memories. Thanks go out to the House Democrats and yes, Speaker Andy Dillon's office for allowing me to attend.

You can watch the full address here. good speech. And even better, watch this interview from Fox 2 in Detroit today:

It is one of the best I have ever seen. Governor Granholm talks about the transition in Michigan's economy, the partisanship that exists in politics today, and reflects on her time in office in a very candid way.

Must see video.
